Chris really knows knows what he's doing. That's a simple thing to say, but ultimately his experience, input, and overall knowledge of the industry have made the whole process for us go pretty smooth! This was our first time releasing music, and he was very helpful throughout our recording/mixing/mastering journey. He connected us with a studio that aligned perfectly with our bands needs, and then working through the mixing and mastering process with him was a breeze! I really appreciate how easy it was to collaborate with Chris to get the best sound and bring the band's vision to life. We're very happy with how our tracks turned out, and he hooked us up with stereo and Atmos masters so we have the option to use both. We're really pleased with how everything sounds and the process was great start to finish.
I found I could trust him. That is the main thing I'd say about my experience with Chris Andrews and Monument Sound. There are so many ways for a recording project to crash and burn, but with Chris, stuff just goes right. It's not just his deep engineering chops, attention to detail, artistic sensibilities, killer ear etc (and he has all that stuff in spades) - it's that he really seems to care about your project. You know he is going to give you the best he has to offer. When Chris sent me his final mixes, I imagine I felt a little like Dylan did when he first heard Jimi's version of All Along the Watchtower: "How in the world did he make it sound like that?!" Chris is a true craftsman and a great guy - a joy to work with. I can tell you one thing for sure: I won't be wasting any time shopping around for the right engineer on my next project.
I think the slogan for Monument Sound should be – “We’ll make you hate your demo by upgrading it with Monumental Sound!” I entrusted Chris with the task of mixing a 14-song rock album. There are not enough words to say how happy I am with the final sound of the album. Chris has a vast wealth of knowledge, experience, and tools at his disposal to make your musical audio projects be the best they can be!
Monument is amazing! I’ve worked with Chris on 2 records now and both turned out incredible. He makes the process easy and fun. Top notch.
