Combining Analog Warmth with Digital Precision

Monument Sound, a professional mixing and mastering studio, has relied on a hybrid setup for years. The current setup includes an SSL SIGMA 32 channel mixing console, a Burl B2 Bomber analog-to-digital converter, and a Benchmark ADC-1 converter.

The SSL SIGMA is a high-end mixing console that provides advanced routing options, top-quality preamps, and EQs. In our setup, all music tracks are routed to the A buss, while all vocal tracks are sent to the B buss.

The A buss is connected to the Burl B2 Bomber, which is widely regarded for its ability to capture the warmth and depth of analog sound. By using the B2 Bomber, we can enhance the overall sound quality of the music tracks and ensure they have a classic analog feel.

In contrast, the B buss is connected to the Benchmark ADC-1, which is renowned for its accuracy and transparency. This allows us to capture the details and nuances of analog sound with the utmost precision when printing vocals.

This hybrid setup provides Monument Sound with the best of both worlds: the classic analog sound of the Burl B2 Bomber and the accuracy of the Benchmark ADC-1. It’s a testament to the studio’s commitment to providing clients with the highest possible sound quality and highlights their willingness to invest in state-of-the-art technology.

Overall, our hybrid setup is a great example of how the we can maintain in the analog and digital ever-changing landscape of professional audio production. By incorporating the latest digital technology and classic analog gear, we can offer clients a unique and unparalleled recording experience for mixing stereo as well as immersive audio/Atmos
